Summer Jobs at Skynopy, ESA and more!
Your weekly drop of top jobs, plus a chat about F1, space, and finding your first role

Hello everyone,
A common question I get is: "Do I need a 'space' background to work in the space industry?"
The short answer is no. In fact, some of the most interesting people in this field come from completely different high-tech industries.
This week, our Community Spotlight features Aman Kapoor, who has a deep interest in both Formula 1 and space. You can connect with him below!
Jobs first.

Community Spotlight: Meet Aman Kapoor
This week I had a great chat with Aman Kapoor, a recent MSc Aerospace Engineering graduate from the University of Leeds who has hands-on experience with the Leeds Gryphon Racing team.

Both Aman and myself say hi!
We talked about his interest in both Formula 1 and space, and how skills can transfer between the two. Obvious things like aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and simulation are a clear bridge.
But it’s true that while the fundamental physics are the same… the applications are very different. In F1 you’re dealing with rapid heat dissipation in an atmosphere, while in space you have to manage heat in a vacuum. And for reentry vehicles, you mostly have to manage heat at hypersonic speeds… not quite an F1 car 😅
We also spoke about the realities of the job hunt, especially the extra hurdles you face as an international student in Europe (like some of you reading this!). It's a topic I know many of you can relate to: managing visas applications on top of everything else…
Aman is open for opportunities in both the space and the automotive industry… I tried my best convincing him to stay in the space industry but I’ll need your help, haha
👉 Connect with Aman here (and tell him rockets and satellites are better than cars 😉
He's a very knowledgeable engineer with great hands-on experience and a perfect example of the talent in this community.
He also said is open to connect with other job seekers in a similar position as him, so just reach out!
