Space hiring happens here

Talent pool is live, jobs are good, and Starship did not disappoint

Hey,

What a week. Starship didn’t disappoint!

Stage separation worked. Dummy Starlink deployment worked. Reentry worked. Ship stuck the splashdown... and then kaboom’d in the water. The booster didn't make it as the engines failed to ignite for the reentry burn, but the ship side of this flight was genuinely impressive. A partial success that shows just how fast this thing is evolving.

More on that below 👇

In the meantime: space jobs are not waiting for Starship. Some great roles this week from across Europe - and some news on the platform side too.

Let's go!

🚀 Spotlight: New on findaspacejob.com

Here are some of the best space jobs available today:

  • Acceleration & Investment Program Intern @ SpaceFounders (France)

👉 Not a typical intern role. SpaceFounders is a very nice place to work on: it’s one of the best (if not the best) space accelerators in Europe… now if you’re reading this I hope I don’t need to convince you. So off you go: apply and tell me how it goes.

  • Project Manager in Space Products @ Thales Alenia Space (Switzerland)

👉 PM role at one of Europe's biggest space primes (and soon to be bigger with project BROMO). In Zurich, which I’d say it’s not bad.

  • EO Future Missions Optical Payload Engineer @ ESA (Netherlands)

👉 You’re lucky ESA hires so often… but there are quite a few very cool roles. And this is one of the: design instruments that don’t (yet) exist but (hopefully, if you do it right 🧐) will fly in 10 years.

  • GIS DevOps Officer @ SatCen (Spain)

👉 Build the GIS infrastructure that powers EU satellite intelligence operations. And what can I say: space job + sunny Spain… what else?

  • Head of People and Culture @ Liftero (Poland)

👉 Liftero already flew their thrusters in space and is building the next generation. Now they need someone to build the team. (An extra requirement tho: don’t forget about me when you get the role)

  • Earth Observation Service Manager @ ESA (Italy)

👉 Keep ESA's earth observation science missions running. A top role mixing operations, management, space science… TOP.

  • Innovation Project Manager Aerospace & Defence @ Starbust (France)

👉 Lead innovation programs for big aerospace and defence clients while helping startups scale. I know: easy

👀 The talent pool is here

It’s here…

Companies can now search the candidate database directly to go find the people they need.

If you haven't built your profile yet, now is the moment. The first companies are already in. Why not ensure you’re there when they look for you?

And if you work at a space company (or know someone in HR or hiring at one) send them this link

The talent side only works if the company side shows up too. Help us get there faster.

🗞️ This week in space

What a flight! I probably don’t need to explain to you anything but SpaceX launched Starship V3 last week.

The tldr in case you’re too lazy to read anything 👇

There are still some issues with the Raptor 3 engines but overall the flight was mostly a success and brought Starship one step closer to orbit. The moment this thing starts deploying satellites, we’ll have to get ready because things are going to change FAST. (Also partly because Blue Origin is pushing hard on New Glenn too)

Let’s hope we see Isar Aerospace launch Spectrum soon. The initial estimates point to a launch in June, so let’s hope that’s the case.

Hope you find it helpful! But most importantly: I hope you share it with someone who can find it helpful: it means a lot!

Until next week,
Jaime

And if you’re curious about how to help the Nigerian prince which we talked about last week: here’s a funny video for you all
