NASA on Netflix? And 30+ TOP space jobs

Hope your summer is off to a good start!

Here we have some interesting news this week. We’re cooking some very nice things and hope to have them ready very soon.

This week we bring in new jobs (the space industry doesn’t seem to stop hiring - good news for those of you job hunting now over the summer period), a new idea for this newsletter and some quick thoughts on the future of the industry.

🚀 Spotlight: New on findaspacejob.com

Here are some of the new roles added this week.

• Product Manager – Spacecraft Operations @ Leanspace (France)

  👉 This one is good. It requires an interesting mix of business/product mindset and space engineering knowledge. A rare opportunity indeed.

• Internal Research Fellow in Solutions for Space System Cyber Security Resilience @ ESA (Germany)

  👉 The title is long but cybersecurity in space is only going to grow so very important field to research about.

• Strategic Foresight and Planning Officer @ ESA (France)

  👉 A great role to contribute to the strategy and future of ESA. As before, this is not your everyday space opportunity.

The Netflix Effect: Space Goes Mainstream

You might have seen the news: NASA is partnering with Netflix to bring its streaming service NASA+ to the platform.

Does this matter for us in Europe?

Short answer: yes. Or it should 😅 

This is a huge sign that space isn’t just only for engineers and scientists but something that’s becoming a bit of a media product. As we mentioned a few weeks back with EDGX roles, the ability to tell a compelling story, market a complex system (by focussing on the user needs, not your technology!) and build a brand is fundamental for any company.

I don’t know about you but it does make me think.

A new idea...

This is for those of you who’ve reached this far!

I’m always curious to know who’s on the other side of this email.

So I think as a nice addition to the CV review, I could feature some of you in the upcoming issues.

It’s a simple way to introduce yourself to many other space professionals (and recruiters… just saying) across Europe.
