SpaceX IPO day, nearly €1.5B in European space funding, and TOP fresh jobs to apply to
It’s happening…
Whether you like it or not, it’s a massive day. Also obviously because of the space jobs that opened this week 👇
There’s never been a better time to work in the space industry…
🚀 Spotlight: New on findaspacejob.com
Some of the best space jobs live right now:
Planetary Protection Engineer @ ESA (Netherlands)
👉 Yes, this is a real job title, and it looks so cool: if you’re into armaggedon and stuff like that, then why not check it out? (Possibly the coolest title in this whole issue)Doctoral student in geodetic surveying with GNSS @ KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden)
👉 Funded PhD at KTH on GNSS-based geodetic surveying. A few acronyms but I’m sure you can work it all out ;)Internal Research Fellow (PostDoc) in xAI and Decision Intelligence for EO Resilience @ ESA (Italy)
👉 This one is good but ‘xAI’ is not that xAI which is going public today haha (do you imagine that? It’d be a weird ESA listing for sure haha). For ESA, xAI isn’t Grok but explainable AI… you can explain that to me too 😅Postdoctoral Research Associate @ Durham University (UK)
👉 Another postdoc for the research crowd, this time at Durham. This is the research openings week 😎Senior RF Systems Engineer @ Orbint (Germany)
👉 Back again because it's still open and still a great role: Orbint is building RF tech for the next wave of space comms and wants a serious RF brain to own systems design.Lead Production & AIT (Assembly, Integration & Testing) @ Revolv Space (Italy)
👉 Revolv needs someone to own Production & AIT — and it's remote. A remote AIT lead role doesn't come around often, grab it.Software Embedded Engineer @ Liftero (Poland)
👉 Liftero is hiring an embedded software engineer in Krakow. Not many top space companies around there so quite a great opportunity.Project Manager, SKA-Low Digital @ SKAO (UK)
👉 (For the new subscribers this week) SKA is the largest radio telescope ever built, and the digital side needs a Project Manager. Big science, big telescope, your project plan.Junior Financial Controller Intern @ Involve Space (Italy)
👉 Non-engineers, this one's for you: finance internship at Involve Space in Italy. Learn how a space company actually runs its numbers.Electronic Technician @ Involve Space (Lipomo)
👉 And now a hands-on electronics role at Involve too. No excuse to not apply to either ;)
Not seeing your role? The full list is at findaspacejob.com — plenty more active right now.

Me, every week, asking if you've made your talent pool profile yet…
Please don’t be like the NBA players haha. Thanks so much to all of you who reached out last week and spoke to me about job hunting and all the feedback you had for Find a Space Job 👊
So in case you’re wondering what to do in this sunny Friday morning (if you’re reading this now and if you’re lucky enough to be in Madrid haha I’m joking, relax), you can do this
And we’re still open to hear your thoughts and what you’d like to see in Find A Space Job: let us know!
🗞️ This week in space
Money week. Three European raises landed within 48 hours of each other: ICEYE closed a €1B round that values the company at €10B (defense and government money is clearly where the growth is right now for better or worse...), Isar Aerospace also raised €270M to scale Spectrum production and VLEO startup NewOrbit Space pulled in an $18.5M Series A.
Take from it what you want, but €270M into a rocket that hasn't reached orbit yet says investors think it's getting close. So fingers crossed for their next launch.
And of course as we all know: SpaceX goes public today. In case you somehow live under a rock or something, this is the largest IPO ever and there’s a great mix of opinions with people loving it and others claiming this is an extremely overvalued stock price… I’m no financial guru so you read around and make your own opinion. But anyone interested in guessing what will the closing price be? Venga, reply if you have a number and we can chat about that
Regardless: $SPCX is such a cool ticker.
And also, a very positive side of SpaceX going public is this: approx ~4000 SpaceX employees (from welders, cafe staff, engineers, technicians, etc) might probably wake up as “paper millionaires”. That’s because they took part of their salary in stock and if they decide to sell part of those shares they are going to make A LOT of money. (That’s also part of the benefit of joining a startup and getting equity)
And speaking of SpaceX: in case you doubted they are going hard on AI sats. So expect "AI" to start showing up in a lot more space job titles soon (not like the ESA one and the xAI vacancy haha).
Either way: three funding rounds in two days is a good sign for anyone job hunting in this industry right now... but if you're here you're probably sorted
That's all for this week.
Until next week,
Jaime
