🌟 Subscriber Spotlight: Réka Szabó
This week’s shoutout goes to Réka Szabó, who’s been helping grow this community and spreading the word about Find a Space Job.
Réka is currently an MSc student in Space Engineering with a background in Applied Mathematics. She’s worked on space radiation protection at GSI, supported satellite operations at EUMETSAT and gained experience in satellite systems engineering. Right now, she’s working on digital aviation systems as a trainee at Wizz Air.
Alongside her technical work, she also founded the Women in Aerospace – Europe Hungary network, creating more visibility and support for space talent in her region 💪
We love seeing talented, mission-driven people like Réka building their own paths in the space industry.
She also shared some really amazing Hungarian space trivia:
🇭🇺 Hungary was the 7th nation in space (1980)
📏 The Kármán Line is named after Hungarian physicist Theodore von Kármán
🔋 The Rosetta lander’s power system was built by a Hungarian team
☢️ The Pille dosimeter, used on the ISS to measure radiation: also built by Hungary
Now you can’t say Hungary’s only contribution to space was the Rubik’s Cube (btw, also invented by Hungary!)
Thanks, Réka! 🚀
